ICE network: start and pay in the ¡Es Eléctrico! app (or with an ICE RFID card). Sign-up asks for an ID/passport scan, a payment card and a Costa Rican (+506) phone number, and activation can take up to 24 h, so register before the trip or ask your rental company. ICE plugs are CCS1 / CHAdeMO / GB/T (no CCS2). 24/7 help: 1194, option 3. Only public charger on the Osa Peninsula. 21 kW DC takes many EVs from ~20% to 60% in about an hour. Nothing on the dirt road to Carate (41 km).

Check your car's plug: fast chargers in Costa Rica use CCS1, CHAdeMO or GB/T — not the European CCS2.
