La Iguana Chocolate (bean-to-bar farm tour, Mastatal)
Food & Coffee · Central Pacific · Chocolate-making tour (~2.5 h)
A small family cacao farm in the mountains of Mastatal making organic bean-to-bar chocolate. On the 2.5-hour tour the family walks you through the cacao trees, then you peel roasted beans, grind them on an old stone grinder, temper the chocolate on marble and make your own bar and truffles. Intimate and very hands-on.
