Fiestas Cívicas de Cóbano (fairground)

Landmark · Nicoya Peninsula

For two weeks every February the fairground just outside Cóbano hosts the southern peninsula's biggest local party: Costa Rican bull riding every late afternoon, a tope horse parade through town, decorated ox carts, carnival rides, food stalls and live bands with dancing late into the night, wrapping up with fireworks and marimba.
