Los Patos Ranger Station (Corcovado)
Trail · Osa Peninsula · hidden gem
Corcovado's inland ranger station on the eastern edge of the park, in the hills above La Palma. It's the start of the classic trek through the heart of the park to Sirena — mostly downhill, about 7–8 hours to the coast — and often continued along the beach to La Leona and Carate.

Tip
Plan it as a multi-day trek with a registered guide (Los Patos → Sirena → La Leona/Carate) and book at least a month ahead; cool off in the river by the station before you set out.
Be careful
A registered guide is mandatory inside Corcovado; the trail is long, hot and muddy, with river crossings — carry plenty of water.
Getting there
By 4×4 transfer arranged by your guide, usually from Puerto Jiménez or La Palma (about 2 hours by road from Drake Bay).
