Puntarenas History Museum & Casa de la Cultura (old barracks)

Landmark · Nicoya Peninsula · hidden gem

The port's old barracks - a sand-coloured building with crenellated walls - now hold the city's history museum: art exhibitions, displays on the first Indigenous settlements, the story of the port and the gulf's wildlife. The Casa de la Cultura gallery, the public library and an amphitheatre share the block.
