Playa Esterillos Centro

Beach · Jacó & Herradura · hidden gem

The calm middle section of the long Esterillos beach, between the Oeste and Este sides, with a handful of restaurants and cabinas and almost no crowds. A good place for a barefoot sunset walk, or for morning surf before the wind picks up.

Tip

Surf and walk in the morning, before the afternoon wind; bring water and snacks because there are only a few places to eat.

Be careful

Rip currents and shore break, same as the rest of Esterillos: wade only. Estuaries and the river mouth cut across the sand in places, so don't cross them at high water.
