Playa Limoncito (paddle-in cove by Punta Leona)
Beach · Jacó & Herradura · hidden gem
A tiny jungle-backed cove next to Playa Mantas and Punta Leona that people reach by kayak or Hawaiian outrigger canoe from Playa Agujas. With no road in, it stays clean and quiet, and the rocks are good for snorkeling — paddlers report colorful fish, sea stars and sea cucumbers, and sometimes turtles on the way.

Tip
Join a kayak or canoe trip from Playa Agujas (Kayak Jacó: departures around 8:00 and 13:30, snorkel gear and a fruit picnic included). Mornings usually have the calmest sea.
Be careful
Open-sea paddle along cliffs where waves break — wear the life vest and stay with the guide. Don't stand on or touch the reef.
Getting there
Route 27, then right toward Jacó after the last toll; about 25 min on to the Playa Agujas entrance, where Kayak Jacó has its base and parking. From Agujas it is a short paddle south along the cliffs (~2 km); paddlers describe the cove as reachable only by water.
