A long, often empty stretch of sand just south of Puerto Jiménez that runs on into Playa Preciosa: great for a swim, a sunrise walk and spotting macaws in the beach almond trees.

Tip
Rent a bike in town and ride down the flat airstrip road; it takes about 15–20 minutes.
Be careful
Some days the surf is powerful: swim only when it's calm, keep away from the river mouths (crocodiles) and don't leave valuables on the sand.
