Playa Puerto Soley
Beach · Guanacaste
A big, calm beach at the small fishing village of Puerto Soley, deep inside Bahía Salinas and a few kilometers from the Nicaraguan border. It's a good picnic beach with calm water, Isla Bolaños' seabird colony sits out in the bay, and there's a police presence because of the border.

Tip
Do it the local way: a churchill (shaved ice with condensed milk) on the sand in the late afternoon, then stay for the sunset over the bay.
Be careful
Wind can blow hard from November to May; keep an eye on kids and inflatables.
Getting there
A short drive downhill from La Cruz on the road to Bahía Salinas (≈77 km from Liberia); there's parking near the sand.
