Witch's Rock (Roca Bruja)
Nature spot · Guanacaste
A lone rock stack off Playa Naranjo that gives its name to one of Costa Rica's best-known surf breaks. Most visitors come by boat from Playas del Coco or the Papagayo coast; a rough track through Santa Rosa National Park also leads to the beach.

Tip
Go with a licensed boat operator from Playas del Coco. The break is for experienced surfers, and everyone else comes to see the rock and the beach.
Be careful
Powerful waves and shallow rocks: watch from the boat or the beach unless you are an experienced surfer. Landings can be rough in heavy swell.
Getting there
By boat, or by a rough track through Santa Rosa National Park (park fee applies).
